​Thank you for being interested in becoming a member of RISE: Resource Centre for Independent Living! We are excited to welcome you to our community and to join us in our mission to empower individuals with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.  

 

Since our founding in 1998, RISE has been committed to breaking down barriers and promoting independence, inclusion, and self-determination. We believe that “everybody belongs”, and we work tirelessly to create a welcoming environment where people with disabilities can access the resources and supports they need to thrive. 

 

As a member of RISE, you will have access to a wide range of free programs and services designed to help you grow, learn, and engage with your community. From Peer Support Groups to Information and Networking, Skills Development Workshops to Research and Community Development - our programs are designed to help you develop new skills, connect with others, and lead a more independent life. 

 

In addition to our programs, RISE advocates for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities, promotes community awareness, and works to remove social and physical barriers that prevent people from living fully independent lives. 

 

By becoming a member, you gain access to valuable resources and help shape the future of our organization. We encourage you to actively participate in our programs and share your voice as we continue to build an inclusive and supportive community.

Membership Fee

The yearly membership fee is $25.00 and is valid from April 1st to March 31st. This fee helps to support the ongoing programs, services, and activities offered at RISE. Your membership helps us continue our important work and ensures that all of our programs remain free and accessible to our members.

Membership Application Approval Process 

Your membership application must be approved before you officially become a member. This process may take 4 to 8 weeks as we review applications and ensure we can best meet your needs with the services that will support your independence.  ​Once approved and the membership fee is paid, you will receive a membership card, granting you access to all RISE programs and services, as well as voting rights, for the membership period. 

​

Annual Renewal  

Membership is renewed annually. After the membership period ends on March 31st, you will need to submit a renewal application and pay the annual fee to continue receiving access to RISE’s services and programs for the next year.

Keeping Your Information Updated

To ensure we provide the best possible care and service, please inform RISE staff of any updates to your personal information, including: 

• Address 

• Phone Number 

• Medical Conditions 

• Allergies

• Emergency Contact Information 

 

Updating your information helps ensure your safety and enables us to provide timely and appropriate support in case of an emergency.
