INFORMATION & REFERRAL

Knowledge of available services is often the key distinction between a dependent lifestyle and an independent one. We provide individuals and the broader community with information on accessibility resources, programs, and services available both locally and provincially. Explore financial supports, community partnerships, and disability-related information designed to empower informed decision-making.

RISE: Resource Centre for Independent Living is dedicated to ensuring our members have access to comprehensive information about disability-related supports and programs at both the local and provincial levels.

The Canadore Ride Share Program connects students and seniors commuting to and from campus, fostering a sense of community and support. Whether you're a student seeking cost savings, social connections, or environmental mindfulness, or a senior looking to participate in programming and engage with peers, this program can meet your needs.

Food Security

Harvest Share Food Bank provides healthy, nutritious food to individuals and families in need in the District of Parry Sound. They are open by appointment only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. They provide non-perishable food as well as fresh produce, eggs, milk, meat, and bread to those in need.

Community Meals run on scheduled Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and everyone is welcome. They serve a healthy and delicious dinner. You will typically find fresh salads, homemade soup, hot entrees, and yummy desserts on the menu.  First-come, first-served. Pay what you can.

Through West Parry Sound Community Support Services, Meals on Wheels provides hot or frozen meals to older adults, individuals with a disability, and individuals with a chronic or acute illness who can't cook for themselves—delivered to your home.
